Tina Beltavski

1.) When did you begin and how long have you been training in the Martial Arts?

 
I began training with Grand Master Moo H. Kim at Kim's East Side, Lyndhurst School on September 19, 1990.
 

2.) Why did you begin training in the Martial Arts?

 
I began training in the Martial Arts as a means of exercise to help increase my breathing stamina for my singing. My husband, Master Ted Beltavski, convinced me that the Self Defense I would learn would also be of great value.
 

3.) What does Martial Arts mean to you?

 
I believe that Martial Arts is a way of life. It is a tremendous health benefit, and for me, above all else, it is a means to help others.
 

4.) Under what Master(s) have you achieved your current Rank(s)?

 
I promoted from White Belt to 3rd Degree Black Belt entirely under Grand Master Moo H. Kim.
 

5.) What specific Martial Arts have you trained in, and for how long?

 
I have studied Tae Kwon Do and Judo under Grand Master Kim for 16 Years, and I have studied Grappling and Submission with my husband, Master Ted Beltavski, for the last 10 Years.
 

6.) What is your favorite Martial Art to train in and why?

 
My favorite Martial Art is definitely Tae Kwon Do because I love the artistry and medium of expression that it brings to me as a performer.
 

7.) What aspect of Martial Arts do you believe you excel in the most comfortably?

 
I feel that I excel most in Form Performance because I am very detail oriented, and a good Form Performance highlights the dedication I have given to all of my fundamental techniques.
 

8.) When did you begin and how long have you been instructing?

 
I have been instructing since 1996.
 

9.) Why did you begin instructing, and why do you continue?

 
I began instructing by assisting my husband, Master Ted Beltavski, and I am happy to say that since that time our journey has grown to encompass the current establishment of T&T Martial Arts, Ltd.
 

10.) What is your favorite Tae Kwon Do Technique and why?

 
My favorite Tae Kwon Do Technique is the Turning Wheel Kick because it requires control, balance, flexibility, and the proper coordination of all of these attributes to be performed correctly and beautifully.
